Economic Zone meeting is tonight The city of Opelousas is applying for an Enterprise Zone grant. If approved, the grant can provide the city with funds of $42 million for various projects. City officials are asking interested citizens to join them at City Hall tonight at 6 p.m. to offer input on how these monies can be used. "We have had several meetings around the city of Opelousas," said Charles Ross, administrative assistant.

"This meeting will be the last in a series of meetings before filing the proposal." All residents are invited to participate. OBITUARIES Joseph H. Bordelon EUNICE Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Higgin Bordelon, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, in Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel here with burial in Mt.

Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Bordelon, a resident of Eunice, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, May 30, in V.A. Hospital in New Orleans.

He was a retired restaurant owner and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include: a son, Joseph "Butch" Bordelon of Gonzales; and four grandchildren. Visiting hours are from 5-8 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Bob Wallace conducted the services. Ms. Winn, a resident of Oakdale, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, May 29, at her residence. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and employed by the Allen Parish School Board.

Survivors include: two sisters, Reece Neely of Bogalusa and Mavis Chavis of Oakdale; a brother, Elvin Winn of Oakdale. Ardoin's Funeral Home of Oakdale was in charge of arrangements..
